PTSD and trauma

Trauma that has not resolved with other treatment.

Medicine-assisted psychotherapy for adults for whom trauma-focused therapy has not been enough.

No cost, no obligation. The safety screening is the first step for every patient, regardless of diagnosis.

Is this you?

If trauma still runs your nervous system more than you would like.

You have likely already tried trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, or both, and while it may have helped, something still has not fully resolved.

Maybe revisiting the memory itself has felt too activating to make real progress. Maybe you feel permanently changed by what happened, rather than recovering from it.

If trauma still runs your nervous system more than you would like, this may be worth exploring.

Why this approach is different

Two different jobs of work.

The standard path

Revisiting the material, repeatedly.

Standard trauma treatment often requires revisiting the traumatic material repeatedly, in an ordinary waking state, which can itself be activating and is not effective for everyone.

What we do

Medicine-assisted psychotherapy works differently.

It aims to help you process traumatic material with more distance and less overwhelm, supporting real, lasting shifts rather than repeated exposure alone.

How it works

It uses a window of neuroplasticity created by the medicine itself, paired with structured psychotherapy.

Who this program is right for

This program may be a fit if:

  • You have already tried trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, or both, without full resolution
  • You are an adult, eighteen or over, currently located in Ontario
  • You are medically able to receive the medicine safely, and a free safety screening is how we confirm this
  • You are looking for an approach aimed at real, lasting change, rather than ongoing symptom management alone

Reasons someone would not be a candidate

Some exclusions apply regardless of diagnosis. We go through all of them with you during the safety screening, before any cost or commitment.

Exclusion criteria wording pending Dr. DeCunha's final clinical sign-off

Treatment is not yet available outside Ontario, but we're actively working on ways to bring this to people wherever they are, whether that means a visit to see us, or a referral to a trusted clinic closer to home. Ask us for more. Get in touch

What treatment looks like

The process is the same, regardless of diagnosis.

A free safety screening, consultation, assessment, preparation, six journey sessions, and AfterCare, unfolding over about twelve weeks.

Phase 01 · Onboard

Screening and assessment

A free initial consultation and safety screening, a clinical team review, then a full medical and psychological assessment before anything begins.

Phase 02 · Prepare

Skills and intentions

Three preparation sessions to build trust and safety, teach you what to expect, and clarify what you want to work on and change.

Phase 03 · Journey

Six supervised sessions

Six consecutive journey sessions, each three hours long, in a private supervised setting with your own dedicated therapists present throughout.

Phase 04 · AfterCare

Integration and follow-up

Outcome measures repeated, then an extended integration session where you pull everything together and prepare to carry it forward.
