OCDOCD that has not responded to other treatment.
Medicine-assisted psychotherapy for adults still caught in a loop they cannot fully step outside of.
No cost, no obligation. The safety screening is the first step for every patient, regardless of diagnosis.
If OCD still feels like a rigid loop you cannot fully step outside of.
You have likely already tried exposure and response prevention, medication, or both, and while it may have helped to a point, the intrusive thoughts or compulsions have not fully loosened their grip.
Maybe you know, rationally, that a compulsion does not make sense, but doing it anyway still feels unavoidable.
If OCD still feels like a rigid loop you cannot fully step outside of, this may be worth exploring.
Two different jobs of work.
Gradually retraining the response.
Standard OCD treatment works by gradually retraining your response to triggers over time, within ordinary waking consciousness.
Medicine-assisted psychotherapy works differently.
It works alongside that, in a prepared and supported setting, with the aim of real and lasting shifts rather than gradual retraining alone.
How it works
It uses a window of neuroplasticity created by the medicine itself, paired with structured psychotherapy.
This program may be a fit if:
- You have already tried exposure and response prevention, medication, or both for OCD, without the relief you were hoping for
- You are an adult, eighteen or over, currently located in Ontario
- You are medically able to receive the medicine safely, and a free safety screening is how we confirm this
- You are looking for an approach aimed at real, lasting change, rather than gradual retraining alone
Reasons someone would not be a candidate
Some exclusions apply regardless of diagnosis. Certain medical and psychiatric histories mean this approach is not a safe or suitable choice, and that is true whatever a person has already tried.
Every one of those is reviewed individually, with you, during the free safety screening. Nothing is decided from a checklist and nothing is decided without you in the conversation.
That is exactly what the screening is for: to establish whether this is right for you before there is any cost, any commitment, or any deeper assessment. If it is not, we say so plainly, we say so early, and we tell you what we would suggest instead.
Treatment is not yet available outside Ontario, but we're actively working on ways to bring this to people wherever they are, whether that means a visit to see us, or a referral to a trusted clinic closer to home. Ask us for more. Get in touch
The process is the same, regardless of diagnosis.
A free safety screening, consultation, assessment, preparation, typically six journey sessions, and AfterCare, unfolding over about twelve weeks.
Screening and assessment
A free safety screening first, then a free consultation, a clinical team review, then a full medical and psychological assessment before anything begins.
Skills and intentions
Three preparation sessions to build trust and safety, teach you what to expect, and clarify what you want to work on and change.
Supervised journey sessions
Typically six journey sessions, each three hours long, in a private supervised setting with your own dedicated therapist present throughout.
Integration and follow-up
Outcome measures repeated, then an extended integration session where you pull everything together and prepare to carry it forward.
